ABOUT KATE:
Kate Bennett is Michigan's first fashion designer to focus exclusively on bridal wear.
Since 2002 Kate has been designing and creating one-of-a-kind wedding gowns for brides
across the Midwest. A Michigan native, Kate grew up in Rochester and graduated from
Wayne State University in Detroit where she received a Bachelors degree in Costume
Design. She has created costumes for local theatres, womenswear for local stores like
Pure Detroit, and couture garments for local television and events. Her background in
costume design and historic clothing combined with and a love for modern fashion,
established a natural transition into the world of Bridal Couture.
Kate found that many of her clients were unhappy with either the selection or
quality at local salons. Many of Michigan's brides were modern and fashion forward,
but couldn't find dresses to reflect that. It is Kate's goal to offer beautiful and fashionable
designs that give brides more options than ever before. Since it's conception in 2005 the
Kate Bennett bridal line has been known for originality, quality,and style. All Kate Bennett
gowns are made in the USA, with the majority of the work done in Michigan using only the
finest materials from around the world.
Kate Bennett garments and designs have received acclaim and recognition locally
from
Hour Magazine, Metro Bride Magazine, the Detroit News and Free Press, Detroit
Fashion
Pages, Strut, Pink the Oakland Press, Real Detroit Weekly,
Metrotimes, and WDIV Detroit.
Kate lives in Rochester Hills with her husband, Ron, and her cat, Oscar de
la Renta.

THE COLLECTIONS:
Our collection is classic haute couture with a fashion forward twist. Every gown is
available in a variety of colors and trims and some styles are even customizable. Each
collection is inspired by different sources with the Kate Bennett client in mind. The 2007
gowns are hand draped and shaped after Grecian art and architecture. They are delicate,
romantic, and celebrate a woman's form. A 1950's American garden party inspired the
2008 collection. Floral lace, structured waists, ands sheer jackets work together perfectly
together to create modern classics. All you need to complete the look is a vintage
handbag and your Grandmothers pearls!

COUTURE:
Kate Bennett is proud to offer brides the option to order true couture. The couture
bride experiences the ultimate luxury. Each gown is designed and made to order for the
client. Couture gown is hand finished using old world techniques. Lace is hand appliquéd
and molded, beads are hand sewn, and zippers and hems are hand finished.
With couture, you can choose a style that's all your own. Not only will your gown
be made to your measurements, no one else will ever have the same gown. The options
are endless.Whether you are looking for a dress in bright red, or something with an
unusual neckline, anything is possible.
